About Me

Hello! My name is Emily Collard. I am a rising junior at the University of Tennessee, majoring in Geography with a concentration in Climate and Climate Change and minoring in Broadcast Meteorology. I am a current Haslam Leadership Scholar and an active member of the Volunteer Channel and the Student Alumni Associates. Off campus, I have been gaining experience in operational meteorology through interning at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In this role, I write daily forecasts, give severe weather safety briefings, run dispersion models, and revise emergency planning protocols. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in meteorology before pursuing a career in the aviation weather industry.
